Places of Interest and Iconic Locations

The Spare Seat team will be visiting places of interest and iconic locations along the route.  We aim to document our adventure and locations through world class photography, stories and updates and video. Glenn is a world class photographer and put simply is a magician with a camera.

Inspiring talks to communities and young people

In partnership with Inspired Life which inspires young people and communities in the UK we will be delivering a series of inspirational talks along the route.  Richard Harpham, from Britain and American Glenn Charles have completed over 14,000 miles of human power between them by kayak, canoe and bike and have incredible stories of wildlife, culture, adventure and tales of daring do.  As their journey develops they will be adding to story from this Spare Seat expedition.

These talks are being planned with communities along the route and we will also hope that people will talk to the boys along the way and hear their stories.

Coaching clinics

The Spare Seat team will also be providing some coaching clinics and advise on kayaking and canoeing along the route. We will be linking to existing groups and kayak and canoe clubs to provide some coaching.  Richard is an experienced kayak coach and adventurer and Glenn has also coached and inspired many with his adventures.
